PERIOD'S MATE

What is a Menstrual Cycle?

The menstrual cycle indicates that your reproductive organs are beginning to function.

The menstrual cycle begins on the first day of your menses until the first day of your menses in the following month. Normally, the menstrual cycle occurs between 21 to 35 days. A young girl usually experiences menstruation between 3 to 6 days.

What Is Happening Inside My Body?

  • Your pituitary gland is stimulating your ovaries to produce ova.
  • Due to the hormonal stimulation, a thick, blood-filled lining begins to develop in your uterus.
  • In the middle of your menstrual cycle, ova are released from your ovaries and head towards the uterus through the fallopian tubes. Ova which are not impregnated by sperm will be destroyed and removed from your body. The thick, blood-filled lining in your uterus is disposed as menses
